presenting complete people

Colossians 1:28 We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete (telos) in Christ.

Our proclamation is a person, not a system. For us to communicate what it means to know, love, serve and treasure Christ, we need to take time to allow His goodness to minister to us. We need to take the time and energy to set our minds on Him and to receive grace from Him. It is out of the grace He gives that we then are able to admonish (really urge) and teach (instruct with insight and practical guidance) all different kinds of people. We do this as an act of worship. What we then present to the LORD are people. People who are actually who they were intended to be; whole people, healthy people; people at rest with themselves and their Creator, ready to share the grace that has been given them with others.

Lord Jesus, you are our hope and the hope for those around us. Help us receive the wisdom of abiding in you so we can offer the hope of abiding in you. And Lord, grant us the ability to present your hope with conviction, clarity and competency.
